Campaign for Solidarity With Jammu And Kashmir

Some eighty years ago, Ambedkar had warned us 'if Hindu Raj becomes a fact, it will, no doubt, be the greatest calamity for this country' and he could not have been more prophetic.

5 August 2020 marked one year of the abrogation of Article 370, the dissolving of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, and the caging of the people of J&K.

Last year, the Modi Government made many tall promises about what this move would accomplish and how it would benefit India and the people of J&K. Meanwhile many warned that the Modi regime’s tyranny in Kashmir would soon be a blueprint for the whole of India. A year later, the Government’s promises stand exposed and betrayed, and the people of J&K continue to be caged and silenced. Also, the Modi regime is using many of its tactics in J&K, to cage and silence dissent and democracy all over India.

On 3 August, people took part in protest campaign to express solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. CPIML activists organised countrywide solidarity gatherings in various places observing Covid-19 precautions, and large number also participated in online campaign displaying posters of solidarity in order to amplify voices of the people of J & K by highlighting Modi regime’s lies and the real facts on the ground.
