Some eighty years ago, Ambedkar had warned us 'if Hindu Raj becomes a fact, it will, no doubt, be the greatest calamity for this country' and he could not have been more prophetic.

National Vice President and UP President of People’s Union for Civil Liberties Chittaranjan Singh passed away on 26 June 2020 at the age of 67, following a long illness. He was cremated at his ancestral village, Sultanpur (Maniyar) in Balia.

Comrade Chittaranjan had joined the CPIML as a University student in Allahabad and remained a life-long member. He had been a leading figure in the Indian People’s Front. He joined the People’s Union for Civil Liberties, and was a leading human rights defender in India.

His passing is a huge loss for the democratic rights movement in India at a time when the movement is under such intense attack. CPIML extends condolences to Comrade Chittaranjan Singh family members and his friends and comrades.
