Comrade Manoj Lekthe (Alon)

Some eighty years ago, Ambedkar had warned us 'if Hindu Raj becomes a fact, it will, no doubt, be the greatest calamity for this country' and he could not have been more prophetic.

With profound grief, we announce the untimely passing of Comrade Manoj Lekthe (Alon), President of the RYA Bokajan District Committee, Assam and a dedicated member of the Hills Committee. Comrade Alon breathed his last on November 17, 2024, at 4:30 PM at Faith Hospital, Dimapur, succumbing to a severe head injury sustained in an accident.

Born to Dhonsing Lekthe and Therepi Terangpi in Sinasing Lekthe village, Sarihajan, he was the fifth of seven siblings. He is survived by his wife, Badur Terangpi, and their two children, Sarkleng Lekthe (10) and Nana Lekthepi (7). Comrade Alon dedicated his life for the empowerment of the youth in Bokajan. His untiring efforts for justice and voluntary ideals will remain a beacon of inspiration.

Red Salute, Comrade Alon.
