CPI(ML) Opposes Increase in MLA Salaries in Bihar

Some eighty years ago, Ambedkar had warned us 'if Hindu Raj becomes a fact, it will, no doubt, be the greatest calamity for this country' and he could not have been more prophetic.

The CPI(ML) Legislative group leader in Bihar comrade Mahboob Alam has issued a statement condemning the recent hike in salaries on state MLAs by Nitish government. While workers and peasants are struggling for minimum wages and agricultural support prices and ranks of unemployed youth and students are swelling day by day such an increase in MLAs’ salaries is a cruel joke for the people of Bihar, he said. Today many districts in the state are facing drought and the government is neglecting peasants demands for relief but prioritised to give more luxuries to the elected representatives which is highly undesirable.
