Indian Railways Employees Federation Conference

Some eighty years ago, Ambedkar had warned us 'if Hindu Raj becomes a fact, it will, no doubt, be the greatest calamity for this country' and he could not have been more prophetic.

THE 2nd conference of the Indian Railways Employees Federation (IREF) concluded successfully in Allahabad. The conference unanimously decided to affiliate IREF with AICCTU. It was also decided during the conference to campaign against new central government on rail workers issues like NPS, contractualisation, and privatization. Zonal level mass struggles were planned that may culminate in a massive rally in Delhi. The zonal struggles and campaign may be preceded by a workshop. A team of leaders was formed to take up the New Pension Scheme issue. It was also decided that a cell will be formed to focus on the issues of contract workers and efforts made to bring out a magazine for the purpose of reaching out to the workers in the sector.

The conference elected a team of 41 member office bearers with Manoj Pandey as President, Sarvjit as General Secretary, Rabi Sen as Honorary President, and Amrik Singh as Working President.
