THE CPIML Uttar Pradesh State unit said in a statement on 3 July 2020 that the incident at Chaubepur Thana in Kanpur, where 8 police personnel were massacred in the middle of the night, exposes the tall claims of the Yogi government on law and order. The CPIML asks Yogi a simple question: If, as you claim, all dreaded criminals have left Uttar Pradesh and gone away, then why did the Kanpur incident occur?
Party State President Sudhakar Yadav said that the question begs an answer how and why a dreaded criminal, against whom there are more than 60 cases including murder and other serious cases, is roaming free? If the law and order situation was indeed as excellent as the government claims, goon-gang chiefs like Vikas Dube who thrive on crime-politics nexus should have been behind bars long ago. This is the result of giving protection to criminals and feudal forces. The State government is responsible for the killing of 8 police personnel including a DSP.
