Rally at Tisri in Giridih

Some eighty years ago, Ambedkar had warned us 'if Hindu Raj becomes a fact, it will, no doubt, be the greatest calamity for this country' and he could not have been more prophetic.

A rally led by CPI (ML) MLA Com. Rajkumar Yadav was organized at Tisri on 28 February 2019. Hundreds of workers, farmers, and youth marched from Tisri Chowk to Gandhi Maidan where the rally culminated in a meeting. The meeting commenced with two minutes’ silence to pay tribute to the Pulwama martyrs. A large number of mica workers, mica traders and Party supporters participated in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Comrade Rajkumar Yadav said that the Modi-Raghuvar governments’ promise of generating 2 crore new jobs every year has proved to be nothing more than a hollow jumla. The government has snatched away the livelihood of thousands of mica workers through the Forest Department and administration’s ban on collection and selling of mica. Mica is available at surface level in the Gawan-Tisri region and thousands of poor earn their livelihood by digging up and selling this mica. No policy was made for these mica workers and no policy decisions on the mica industry were made during the tenure of the first BJP Chief Minister Babulal Marandi and Mining Minister Ravindra Rai. Today their livelihoods have been attacked. This will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The District Deputy Commissioner and Forest Department will be gheraoed if the ban on collection and sale of mica is not lifted soon.

Former MLA Comrade Com. Vinod Singh said that the Modi-Raghuvar governments are following anti-education and anti-worker policies. Instead of strengthening the education system and schools in villages, the government is closing down many schools. Migrant workers from Jharkhand are dying in foreign countries but the government continues to sleep unperturbed. The demands of para teachers have not yet been fulfilled even after many sacrifices and struggles. The same is the case with Rasoiyas and all other scheme workers. Comrade Vinod Singh said that these are some of the reasons we must throw out this government at all costs and ensure the victory of CPI(ML) on the Koderma Lok Sabha seat.
