Villagers Nab Theft of PDS Rations

Some eighty years ago, Ambedkar had warned us 'if Hindu Raj becomes a fact, it will, no doubt, be the greatest calamity for this country' and he could not have been more prophetic.

IN Garhay village of Bongi panchayat (Chakai Block, Jamui district, Bihar) on 9 November, villagers led by CPI(ML) caught a tempo vehicle loaded with four bags of Public Distribution Service (PDS) rice rations, which was being smuggled away by a dealer to sell on the black market. They caught the tempo near the Ghorji hill in Melwaghati police station. An investigation was ordered based on the complaint filed by the CPI(ML) Black secretary Manoj Pandey and District Secretary Shubhcharan Singh found the dealer Gopal Mandal guilty of trying to smuggle the rice to Devri in Jharkhand to sell on the black market. After four days, the police came to the Garhay village and took the four bags of rice into their custody and filed the FIR against the accused persons.
